Taylor looks back at her Reputation era
After shying from public eye for about a year, Taylor Swift came back with Reputation in 2017. Fans who followed her journey can recall the time as one of the trickiest periods of her career as she was seemingly ‘canceled’ after her Kanye West feud or that’s what it looked like with the out pouring of negative tweets.
The impact of the feud made headlines, but she is finally talking about the entire ordeal admitting she was at her lowest.
Taylor said: “That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before. I moved to a foreign country. I didn’t leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls. I pushed away most people in my life because I didn’t trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard.”
The isolation helped her focus on creating new music, but initially, she second-guessed her own choices. Speaking of the time she chose to go in hiding, the Mirrorball crooner confessed: “I thought that moment of backlash was going to define me negatively for the rest of my life.”
